Let’s Build a Better Work Day: New Updates in Outlook

Outlook is a powerful email and calendar app that helps you stay connected and organized. In this blog, we will highlight some of the new updates in Outlook and how they can benefit you as an end user.

What’s New in Outlook?

Send Later

You can now schedule your emails to be sent at a later time or date. This is useful when you want to avoid sending emails at inconvenient hours, or when you want to plan ahead for a specific event or deadline. To use this feature, click on the drop-down arrow next to the Send button and select Send later. You can then choose a date and time from the calendar or type in your own. You can also cancel or change your scheduled emails from the Drafts folder.

Reactions

You can now express your emotions or feedback on an email message with reactions. Reactions are similar to the ones you use on social media platforms, such as like, love, laugh, surprise, and sad. To use this feature, hover over the message you want to react to and click on the smiley face icon. You can then choose a reaction from the menu. You can also see how others have reacted to a message by hovering over the reactions.

Translator

You can now translate email messages from other languages into your preferred language with the Translator feature. This is useful when you receive emails from people who speak different languages, or when you want to communicate with them in their language. To use this feature, open the message you want to translate and click on the Translate button on the ribbon. You can then choose a language from the menu or let Outlook detect the language automatically. You can also change your default translation settings from the Options menu.

How Can These Updates Benefit You?

  • Send later: This feature can help you manage your time and productivity more effectively. You can schedule your emails to be sent at the optimal time for your recipients, or when you are more likely to get a response. You can also avoid sending emails at inappropriate hours, such as late at night or on weekends, which can improve your work-life balance and your email etiquette.
  • Reactions: This feature can help you communicate more clearly and efficiently. You can express your emotions or feedback on an email message with a simple click, without having to type a reply. You can also see how others have reacted to a message, which can help you gauge their tone and sentiment. Reactions can also make your email conversations more fun and engaging.
  • Translator: This feature can help you overcome language barriers and communicate more effectively. You can translate email messages from other languages into your preferred language, or vice versa, with ease and accuracy. You can also learn new words and phrases from other languages, which can enrich your vocabulary and cultural awareness.

We hope you enjoy these new updates in Outlook and find them useful for your email and calendar needs. As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
